Thanks Kevin!
Looks like things did indeed get all skrewy there for a bit, last night it said 4 people were using the light theme, now it's down to two :D

MrBcx

There was some glitchiness last night / early this morning caused by an unrelated Theme set.

I resolved the issues.

The default theme is still dark mode but users can set their personal preference to
default (light), as I outlined to Quin earlier in this thread.

that also happened to me today, that's what prompted my reply to this thread

Can relate there, MrBcx. My blindness is such that I only have light perception, but my light perception is also extremely sensative, to the point that I have to wear sunglasses outside, to college, etc.
Also, my SMF reset me from the light to the dark theme randomly today...no idea what caused that.

Speaking only for myself, the dark modes literally are less painful on my eyes.

I've lived with mild light sensitivity (photophobia) most of my life.

Thanks Kevin, that did it. Now back to how it always has been :)
I guess, us blind people prefer the light theme too  :D

EDIT: actually, no it does not! This theme seems to have brought with it a nasty accessibility regression, the alerts and PM links no longer read properly to a screen reader. I just hear "link", not how many (if any) unread alerts I have. Not sure if anything can be done about this, and the visual comfort of all other members matters more than the links for a feature that I, the single blind user, hardly uses myself, but figured I'd make it known, because I'd rather have them be accessible if possible.

Quin,

Click your account dropdown
Choose Look and Layout
Current Theme Forum or Board Default
Click change
Then choose SMF Default Curve2

Hi MrBCX:

Really much more pleasant. As well, I like the main font. It has a nice nostalgic look to it. Ah yes, the good old days!

Thank you very much for this.

MrBcx

I installed and enabled a dark theme for our forum.

It is gentler on my old eyeballs.
