Awesome, thanks Jeff! I was thinking about requesting this soon.

MrBcx

I'm glad to hear the Pelles forum is now working correctly for our BCX members.

In related news, Jeff Shollenberger messaged me earlier today.

Jeff intends to upgrade the BCX forum software soon which will give our forum improved functionality and a similar facelift.

Kevin,
I just tried again, and I was able to create my account, and got the registration email right away! :)

Pelles forum updated:

Hello Forum Members,

Due to problems with our Mail system I needed to upgrade our Forum to SMF 2.1.4.
The default Theme looks now a bit different but there was no choice.

Please tell me, if you encounter problems with the Forum.

Best regards
Christian

Hi Robert,

It seems Sunshine's post caught both of our attention.

I posted the following shortly after you posted yours:

Definitely a keeper!

FYI

I never use the Pelles IDE for compiling apps but I just messed with building a "Hello World" console app in the IDE.

The build fails with

Building main.obj.
*** Error code: -1073741819 ***
Done.

But I found pressing F5 or choosing Debug Hello on the project menu will
build and run the executable, even when debug info doesn't exist in the .exe

Hi MrBcx:

I compiled and ran Sunshine's patch from here

https://forum.pellesc.de/index.php?topic=11474.msg40703#msg40703

and now I can compile from the Pelles C IDE again.

Try it, see if you like it !

Hi Quin:

I'm on Windows 11 24H2 and have not been able to get the Pelles IDE to compile anything. Even trying to build the Hello World project included in the distro ends with "Project build ended in complete failure."

Do you know that the BCX installer has the latest version of Pelles included to function in the Bed editor?
Hi Robert,
That's incredibly interesting and very unfortunate. I have no clue what would be going on there. I was able to get it to build a project, but the text field hardly reads with my screen reader, so the IDE itself is almost entirely unusable for coding :( :(
I do, yes. In fact, PellesC is my compiler of choice for BCX apps, which is what's making me want to give it a look when I feel like going all the way down to the metal and writing in C myself :D

MrBcx,
Makes sense. Is there a way for me to reach out to the forum administrator? I can't find one at least without being logged in. I tried with two email addresses from two IP's so I doubt it's a ban problem, more likely malfunctioning forum software. Even though Pelle Orinius seems to be MIA PellesC is a great toolchain and I'd love to use it when I want to write just pure C apps, assuming I can get the IDE to be properly accessible...
Thanks.

MrBcx,
I sent you the email sometime yesterday via PM on this forum. Since then, I've tried a few times with the same email address over a span of hours, but am getting the same result. Am I just waiting on a moderator (such as yourself) to come through and approve it? Do you need me to do something else?
Thanks.

The Pelles forum moderators do not approve new members.

So long as a new member successfully navigates the signup/captcha, the approval is automatic.

Pelles forum moderators (like me) can only edit & delete postings and ban spammers.

To reiterate what I wrote to you and dragon57 in private messages yesterday, I reviewed the Pelles forum
ban list, which contains the user ID's that have already been banned, mostly by the forum software/plugins.
There are literally thousands of banned ID's.  I did not find evidence that you or dragon were banned.  I don't
know how the software/plugin auto-banning works but I suppose it's possible that you, dragon57, and possibly
others were blocked but your ID's are not on the ban list.

A new user from Holland was added a few hours ago, so the machinery is apparently working sometimes.

That's all I know.

Send me a forum message with the email that you're trying to use on Pelles and I'll keep an eye out.

There has been a recent rise in spammers tryin to get in.

For what it is worth, same here. I have meant to register on the PellesC Forums as well for quite a while and just tried it. No email, nothing in the spam folder. Something must be hinky on their forum config.
