Amazing. Even more amazing when you wonder how long it would take a mathematician with paper, pencil and slide rule to plot one iteration.

It didn't get much use, as the U.S. Army gave us books of trig logarithm tables which were much faster to use.

Finally, around 1977, they gave us Texas Instruments TI-59 calculators and thus began my interest in programming.

These "coffee grinders" (below) were very popular with surveyors and engineers, in the post slide-rule, pre-electronic calculator years.  I've held one in my hand but never used one in practice because I was born too late.   :)
